Our History

John and Jacqueline have been teachers since 1991 and 1993 respectively and during this time, they came across children in mid and upper primary (and secondary) who could not communicate in English, could not do simple math sum, who did not foresee a future in education, had a low self esteem and had no learning facilities.

They volunteered their weekends to teach, coach and motivate these struggling young learner and youth facing several learning and developmental challenges in resource constrained communities. They left teaching and joined non-profit organizations where they worked until 2007 and it was during this time that they founded LIBA in February 2009 to support children from poor families to get quality education like their peers from well-to-do families attending private schools and taking extra tuition lessons.
